The most widely spoken language in the international of level is the English language. In India, it was the British who introduced English.

Whatever be the motive behind the introduction of English in India by the British nonetheless, it helped the educated Indians of different parts of the country to have one common language. Also, it helped the Indians to know about the Western worlds and their learning. And in this way, the languages of English helped in the freedom struggle of India. After Independence, India adopted English as its official language. This has made India, now, one of the best non-English speaking countries that speaks English. Besides Hindi and other vernacular language of India, it is English that forms the basis of education in this country. It is this reason that has helped many people  from India to study abroad and also seek opportunities. Likewise, the outsourcing  jobs of U.S.A. In India is possible because of the English language that is spoken here.

This is the very reason that the number of people speaking English is increasing day by day. So, English is not only serving as lingual francs but also benefiting the people of India economically.
